The Berkley Shallow Money Badger is one of the hot new baits on the market and can be fished by both casting and trolling. This makes it an extremely versatile bait, with an aggressive action to attract everything from walleyes to bass to trout.

“The Berkley Shallow Money Badger is one of the most versatile baits that I have fished,” says Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “You can troll it, you can cast it, and you can use it for nearly every species.”

The Berkley Shallow Money Badger is the shallower running version of the Berkley Money Badger, which features an aggressive wobble and unique profile.

“One of my favorite ways to fish the Shallow Money Badger is by trolling a 6.25, 6.75, or 7.25 along shallow areas such as weed edges, bays, and other areas less than 10 feet,” continues Harrington. “This is a great way to give yourself a larger profile, louder action, and more aggressive wobble while still trolling shallow areas.”

The hybrid profile emulates white bass, shad, crayfish, and bluegill, which makes this a versatile bait across multiple fisheries.

“Casting the tailrace areas on the Missouri River like the Oahe Dam on Lake Sharpe is another one of my favorite places to tie on a Shallow Money Badger,” expands Harrington. “This is a loud bait and can both call in fish from a distance and trigger reaction bites, it’s a great option for shore anglers.”

The bait comes in multiple sizes, which also increases the number of species that it can entice.

“I quickly found that rainbow trout absolutely love this bait,” explains Harrington. “I learned that everywhere in Custer State Park the Shallow Money Badger produces fish, it caught rainbow trout, largemouth bass, bluegill, and northern pike.”

The ability to fine tune size and fishing style has quickly made the Shallow Money Badger a confidence bait.

“I’ve probably never fallen in love with a bait faster than I have the Shallow Money Badger,” concludes Harrington. “In just a short time I’ve put it to the test, and simply put if you tie it on you’re going to catch fish.”
