For the second straight year the hometown father and son team of Coledon and Glenn Eimers captured the victory for the Cedar Shore Resort Walleye Tournament.
The Eimers had a two-day weight of 27.61 pounds, with a 13.55 pound Day One and 14.06 pound Day Two.
Covering water was the key for success, both in terms of their presentation and location. While the majority of teams launched out of Cedar Shore Resort marina and headed south, Eimers covered both ends of the tournament boundary.
“We went both north and south,” said Coledon Eimers. “I burned 40 some gallons of gas.”
Trolling crankbaits proved to be successful for the Eimers, as the strong winds on both days made jigging difficult.
Bite windows proved to be key, with fish turning on and off throughout the day.
“We caught some fish, had some bite windows,” said Glenn Eimers. “It’s fun to share with your son.”
Eimers edged out two teams of Pulses, with Jace and Lee Pulse capturing second with 26.43 pounds.
Nick and Tyson Allen came home third with 25.93 pounds, followed by Brad Thompson and Josh Brenden in fourth place with 25.74 pounds. Phil and Braxton Pulse came in fifth with 25.35 pounds.
The big fish of the tournament came on Day One at 6.16 pounds, and was caught by Camden Palmer.
