The 2025 Sharpe Showdown is set for April 26-27. The third annual event is hosted by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce and put on by The Fishing Crew.

“Sharpe Showdown is one of my favorite events of the season,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “Pierre is the perfect host for anglers and hunters, and this event is an excellent way to showcase what our community is all about.”

The 2024 event was won by Tyson Keller and Max Sheets, bringing 26.91 pounds across the scales. The theme of the event was an abundance of fish to be caught, particularly right at the 15” mark, which means there should be numerous 16-17 inch fish for the 2025 event.

“This event is going to be even more interesting this year, as the National Walleye Tour will be fishing the Thursday and Friday before the event,” continued Harrington. “There’s not going to be many secrets by Saturday morning, and it’s going to come down to who can execute the best.”

Anglers launch from Downs Marina on to Lake Sharpe, and fish anywhere along the reservoir. Anglers can keep seven fish per day and weigh their best five.

“I’m extremely excited for this opportunity, and hope to represent well on our home waters,” concluded Harrington. “A special thank you to the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, The Fishing Crew, and all other sponsors that make this event possible.”
