Mason Propst, simply put, has walleye fishing in his blood. Mason is the third generation of the Propst Professional Anglers dynasty. His grandfather, Bob Propst Sr, was a pioneer of the sport and is responsible for many of the enhancements and growth made throughout the last several decades. His father, Bob Propst Jr, continued the legacy capturing numerous tournament wins and operating a successful guide service. Now, it’s Mason’s turn to carry the torch.
In doing so, Mason opened Mason Propst Fishing at the beginning of 2024.
“Fishing is all I’ve ever known,” said Mason Propst, Owner of Mason Propst Fishing. “Since I can remember, I’ve been going to tournaments, helping with guide groups, and literally growing up on the water.”
Through Mason Propst Fishing, Mason is offering guided walleye fishing trips on the Missouri River reservoirs of Lake Sharpe and Lake Oahe, Lake McConaughy in western Nebraska, and Merritt Reservoir near Valentine, Nebraska.
“These are truly my favorite fisheries in the world,” continued Propst. “I’ve been fortunate to experience the top walleye fisheries across the country, and these are certainly among the best.”
In addition to offering guided trips, Mason will continue to participate in tournaments across the Midwest. Mason and Nick Harrington have been tournament partners since 2019, when they began fishing the South Dakota Elite Walleye Series together. Since then, they have partners for numerous events including Pierre’s Tuesday Night Walleye Fishing League, The Fishing Crew, and the Nebraska Walleye Trail.
“Mason is both a passionate and highly versatile angler,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “I’m extremely proud of him for continuing to take his fishing career to the next level.”
As part of building his business, the official Mason Propst Fishing website was unveiled in January 2024.
“Folks looking to learn more about fishing with me can find everything they need to know on my new website,” continued Propst. “You’ll also be able to follow along with our tournament results as well.”

“I’ve got a brand-new Facebook page that I started in late December 2023,” continued Propst. “Facebook and Instagram are great ways to see the latest catches and behind the scenes content as well.”
The 2024 season was already setting up to be a big one for both Mason and Nick, and this continues to make the year even bigger as both anglers look to continue to build upon their fishing careers.
“I just can’t quantify how proud of Mason I am,” concluded Harrington. “It’s so great to see him continuing to build upon his family’s legacy, while blazing his own trail as well.”
Off the water, Mason is married to the love of his life, Sarah, with whom he has his daughter Quinn and stepson Camden.
“I’m really excited for what the future has in store and hope folks are excited to follow along with me,” concluded Propst.
