South Dakota

South Dakota is a fishing paradise and features the Glacial Lakes region in the northeast side of the state, four major Missouri River reservoirs throughout the central region, and the gorgeous Black Hills in western South Dakota. Check out our favorite South Dakota fishing spots!

Oahe Downstream Recreation Area

Located in the center of the state, Oahe Downstream Recreation Area sits between both Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe. The park provides the closest access to both of these outstanding fisheries, meaning anglers can find some of the best fishing on the Missouri River within minutes of their accommodations. Four modern cabins offer all the comforts of home, while three campgrounds make for a quiet paradise just outside of Pierre. It’s the perfect base camp for a fishing, hunting, or blast and cast adventure!

Roy Lake State Park

Located in northeast South Dakota, Roy Lake State Park is a hidden gem within the Glacial Lakes region. Roy Lake offers fantastic bluegill fishing, slab crappies, abundant northern pike, quality smallmouth, and a quietly good walleye fishery. Roy Lake State Park is nested in a quiet corner of the lake and features comfortable accommodations right on the water. It’s the perfect location for a fishing weekend or family vacation!

Cedar Shore Resort

Every spring, the unofficial capitol of walleye fishing in the Midwest becomes Chamberlain, South Dakota. At the center of it all is Cedar Shore Resort, which offers excellent fishing and hunting opportunities all year long. Whether you’re chasing spring walleyes or fall roosters, Cedar Shore Resort makes the perfect base camp for it all!

Custer State Park

Custer State Park is one of the premier outdoor destinations in South Dakota, which is largely due to the abundant wildlife, bison herd, miles of trails, and of course gorgeous Black Hills views. Custer State Park also includes many incredible fisheries, and visitors should plan to pack their fishing rod to enjoy one of the most unique bites in the state!

Ontario, Canada

North Shore Lodge

Sitting on the northeast side of Eagle Lake, North Shore Lodge makes the perfect Canadian fishing destination. Whether you’re fishing on your own, hiring a guide, or a mix of both you’ll find friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, and tremendous fishing for both walleye and musky!
