The 30th Annual Platte Area Chamber of Commerce Fishing Tournament will take place Saturday, May 2, 2026. This milestone event launches out of Platte Creek Recreation Area fishing on Lake Francis Case.
The weekend will begin Friday, May 1 at the Platte Community Building for a rules meeting, dinner, and Calcutta. Check in begins at 5 p.m. and dinner is served at 6 p.m., with Calcutta to follow.
The tournament will take place Saturday, May 2, launching out of Platte Creek Recreation Area. Weigh-ins will take place at the Platte Creek Store.
The tournament will offer over $20,000 in payouts including top ten places, big fish, and Calcutta. The entry fee is $310 for a two person team and $360 for a three person team. Entry fee will increase to $360 for a two person team and $410 for a three person team after April 24, 2026.
Payouts for a full field are:
- 1st Place: $8,300
- 2nd Place: $4,000
- 3rd Place: $2,300
- 4th Place: $1,500
- 5th Place: $1,000
- 6th Place: $800
- 7th Place: $700
- 8th Place: $600
- 9th Place: $500
- 10th Place: $400
Big fish entry is included with registration and pays out for the top three places.
Registration for the event opens Monday, February 2 at 8 a.m. central time. Registration and rules can be found at PlatteSD.org.
The event is hosted by the Platte Area Chamber of Commerce and is an excellent way to showcase the excellent fishing on Lake Francis Case in the Platte area, and the best of what the community has to offer.
