The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) today announced there will be a public meeting regarding the Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe fisheries in the Pierre area on January 14, 2026.
The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. central time on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the Fort Pierre AmericInn.
GFP fisheries biologists will provide a presentation on both waterbodies, and there will then be an opportunity for a question-and-answer session. The presentation will include the history, current trends, and upcoming management plans for the fisheries.
Individuals who are unable to attend in person will be able to view a recording of the meeting on the GFP YouTube Channel.
Additionally following the meeting, the 2026 forecasts for both Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe will be posted to the Lip Ripper Fishing South Dakota Fisheries Focus page.
