It’s been an exciting year for Lip Ripper Fishing so far, and it is time to share one of the major areas of expansion that’s been taking place this season!
“One of my goals for this year was to really expand on YouTube,” says Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “I’ve always used YouTube as essentially just a storage place for fishing reports and other quick, 2-4 minute videos, but I’ve really tried to up my game this year.”
While fishing reports, quick tips, and other informational videos will still be shared and posted on the YouTube page, a new feature for 2025 is the Secrets Revealed videos.
“Following the National Walleye Tour event in Pierre I really wanted to discuss the fishery and share some insight in how the event played out,” continues Harrington. “It turned into a long form, about 22-minute video, and I decided to call it Secrets Revealed because ultimately that’s what my goal was.”
The video was met with tremendous enthusiasm, seeing over 2,300 views in three weeks after publishing.
“I was honestly pretty shocked at the feedback I received,” admits Harrington. “I’ve always been proud of my writing abilities, but I’ve never done video longer than a quick couple minute take, so to get that positive feedback really excited me.”
So far, there have been three Secrets Revealed episodes: Spring Walleye Fishing on Lake Sharpe, Trolling Crankbaits for Spring Walleye (Lake Sharpe), and Multispecies Fishing on Hipple Lake (Lake Sharpe, Pierre).
“I didn’t really have a plan for these, in fact I didn’t even intend to brand them,” confesses Harrington. “I’ve had a lot of fun with it though, and I hope people are enjoying it.”
Similar to information on the website and social media, the goal is to provide content people want to see.
“I’m always open for feedback on ways I can be better, ideas for topics folks want to see, and ultimately just want to help people catch more fish,” states Harrington. “I’m not a secret keeper, I want to see other people having fun catching fish and I hope these videos, fishing reports, and everything else I’ve been working on reflects that.”
Individuals can catch all of these videos by Subscribing to YouTube, Following Lip Ripper Fishing on Facebook, and following mrwalleyesd on Instagram.
“I just want to thank everyone for the support, it’s been super cool to meet people at the ramp or cleaning station and say they recognize me from YouTube or my website,” concludes Harrington. “It’s just been a ton of fun for me, and I hope it is for everyone else too.”
If you’ve missed any of these videos, or are just checking them out for the first time, we’ve got all three Secrets Revealed here!
