The Second Century Habitat Fund (SCHF) has stepped on the gas pedal for habitat conservation, announcing their Defender for Habitat raffle!

Fueled by the support from Governor Larry Rhoden, South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP), and Can-Am, this raffle aims to raise both awareness and funds for habitat conservation in South Dakota.

“We take care of the land here in South Dakota because we know that we’ll pass it on to the next generation,” said Governor Larry Rhoden in a press release. “This raffle will help support habitat, conservation, and our farmers and ranchers across the state — all while offering a pretty cool Can Am!”

The raffle offers a 2025 Can-Am Defender Max Limited Desert Tan/Stealth Black, which includes premium features, including power windows, climate-controlled interior, built-in light bar, winch, and more!

“All proceeds from this raffle go directly into habitat restoration and conservation programs led by SCHF,” said Liz Kierl, Executive Director of the Second Century Habitat Fund. “This is a tremendous win for South Dakota’s hunters, ranchers, wildlife, and future generations.”

This means that while one winner will drive off in their new Can-Am, everyone who enjoys South Dakota’s outdoors will enjoy the benefit of this raffle.

This isn’t the first time SCHF, GFP, and Can-Am have conducted this type of raffle-with the first of it’s kind taking place in 2021 and raising $500,000 for habitat conservation efforts in South Dakota.

“I was extremely fortunate to have been involved in the first Can-Am raffle in 2021, and look forward to even higher goals this year,” said Nick Harrington. “I encourage everyone to purchase a ticket, you might win a Can-Am, but you’re for sure going to know you’ve played a role in supporting habitat and access efforts in our state.”

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • 1 for $20
  • 3 for $50
  • 10 for $100
  • 50 for $500

The deadline to purchase tickets is October 25, 2025. Tickets are unlimited, and everyone has the opportunity to win this Can-Am!

“We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our partners and the people of South Dakota,” added Kierl. “This raffle is more than a prize—it’s a way to power habitat conservation and protect the land we love.”
