The 2025 Platte Area Chamber of Commerce Fishing Tournament is set for Saturday, May 3. The 29th annual event is hosted by the Platte Area Chamber of Commerce and launches out of Platte Creek Recreation Area onto Lake Francis Case.
“The Platte area can offer some of the best fishing on Lake Francis Case throughout the entire year,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “There is an abundance of creeks, main lake structure, and unique elements such as submerged trees that can make fishing a ton of fun.”
The event features over $20,000 in payouts, including a Calcutta on Friday night at the rules meeting. The Friday night rules meeting is mandatory and will take place at the Platte Community Center. Payouts are based on the Top 10 places, Big Fish, and the Calcutta.
Registration for the event will open Saturday, February 1 at noon central time. Anglers can visit PlatteSD.org to register.
“The Platte area is home to some of the largest fish in Lake Francis Case,” concluded Harrington. “This is always a fun tournament, and after a tough year fishing on Lake Francis Case in 2024, all eyes will be on this tournament to set the tone for a better season.”
