This is the last chance to sign up for the 3rd Annual Sharpe Showdown! The deadline to register is Friday, April 18. The tournament takes place April 26-27 out of Downs Marina in Pierre and launches onto Lake Sharpe. Sharpe Showdown is hosted by the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce.
“The early season bite has been strong on Lake Sharpe,” said Curt Underhill, Tournament Director for The Fishing Crew. “There’s a great number of walleyes in Lake Sharpe right now, and it will make this year’s event very interesting.”
The lake survey results for Lake Sharpe indicate the highest abundance of walleyes since 2017, and angler’s reports are confirming this as well.
“There’s a lot of fish in the system, and a lot of fish being caught,” continued Underhill. “What’s unique for this event is the National Walleye Tour will be the two days before, which will give a major insight into the weights and fish anglers will need to keep and put back throughout the event.”
Space is limited, and anglers are encouraged to get signed up as soon as possible prior to the deadline.
“We’ve had this event a couple years now, and this one is shaping up to be our best year yet,” concluded Underhill. “We hope you’re excited to join us for this year!”
The Sharpe Showdown Big Bag will be sponsored Lip Ripper Fishing.
“Sharpe Showdown is personally my favorite event of the season,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “I’m excited to support this tournament, and hope it continues to grow each and every year!”
In addition to sponsoring Big Bag, Nick will be fishing again with Tom Sieburg of TomTom’s Guide Service.
“Tom and I had a ton of fun at Cedar Shore this year,” continued Harrington. “Tom’s a top notch angler, and I really believe we’ll be legitimate threats to win this one.”
