This is the last chance to sign up for the 24th Annual Cedar Shore Resort tournament! The deadline to register is Wednesday, April 9 at midnight. The tournament takes place April 12-13 out of Cedar Shore Resort in Chamberlain and launches onto Lake Francis Case.

“The long range forecast is looking fantastic for this year’s event,” said Curt Underhill, Tournament Director for The Fishing Crew. “Initial forecasts show sun, warm temperatures, and favorable winds.”

Early reports from the Chamberlain area, and Lake Francis Case as a whole, are that fishing is very good.

“Anglers are reporting great numbers of 18-22 inch fish,” continued Underhill. “Between limits being caught, quality fish, and strong numbers of those fish over 20 inches this is shaping up to be a really fun event.”

After what should be two great days on the water, the winning team is set to take home $13,000. Second place will pocket $7,500 and third place will take home $5,000. All payouts are based on a 125 boat field.

“This year will be a two day event, and in addition to our traditional payouts we will also have a $100 per day optional day money pot,” explained Underhill. “Day money is based on that day’s results, and will pay 40% to first, 25% to second, and 20% to third place.”

Space is limited, and anglers are encouraged to get signed up as soon as possible prior to the deadline.

“Everything is setting up for this to be one of our best Cedar Shore Resort tournaments we’ve ever had,” concluded Underhill. “Between great weather and great fishing, we’re extremely excited to kick off the season with our anglers and hope you’re just as excited to join us!”

This will be the first event of the season for Nick Harrington, who will be fishing with Tom Sieburg.

“I’m extremely excited to start the season and going to be approaching this event with a fresh perspective,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “We have some historically productive spots in the Chamberlain area, but I’m going to really focus on utilizing the whole reservoir and getting a feel for the entire tournament boundary.”

This boundary runs from the Big Bend Dam in Fort Thompson to the Highway 44 Bridge in Platte.

“There’s no shortage of spots to hit and areas to target along the entire reservoir, and I highlight some of those primary areas in Spring Walleye Fishing on Lake Francis Case,” details Harrington. “Hopefully after these next couple weeks, there’s a couple winning spots to add to the notebook for the fishery too!”

Registration and complete rules for the event are available at TheFishingCrew.com. Fishing reports and tournament updates will be provided on our fishing report page, and the latest information can be found by following Nick on Instagram at mrwalleyesd.
