The Hunt for Habitat raffle will again be available for South Dakota in 2025. These raffle licenses are issued by the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) and feature several license opportunities.
The licenses available through the raffle are:
- 3 Any Deer and Elk Packages;
- 1 Custer State Park Trophy Bison;
- 1 Custer State Park Deer; and,
- 1 Any Deer.
Tickets can be purchased for each individual package and are $10 for residents and $20 for nonresidents. There is no limit to the number of tickets nor packages that can be purchased.
Tickets must be purchased by July 14, 2025, at 8 a.m. CT. Tickets are available in Go Outdoors South Dakota.
Winners will be announced in the days following the raffle closing, and winners will be eligible to select which year they wish their license to be eligible as they will be able to hunt in either 2025 or 2026. Hunters will be able to hunt any open season and location for which their license is eligible.
In 2024, the Hunt for Habitat raffle raised a total of $268,310. The Hunt for Habitat raffle is a component of the Second Century Initiative and since 2019 has raised over $1.6 million. Proceeds from the Hunt for Habitat raffle are paired with Habitat Stamp funds to complete habitat projects on public lands across South Dakota.
