The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks announced today the 2025 South Dakota State Park Entrance License is now available for purchase.
The 2025 South Dakota State Park Entrance License is valid from October 1, 2024, to May 16, 2026, which means individuals who purchase their license early will have over 16 months to enjoy all South Dakota state parks, recreation areas, and lakeside use areas.
South Dakota State Parks will also once again feature a yearly theme, which was Reel in Memories in 2024. In 2025, the theme will revolve around water recreation.
“South Dakota state parks offer many recreational opportunities, and in 2025, we are highlighting water recreation. Many parks offer kayak, canoe, and paddleboard rentals, as well as life jacket checkouts,” said state parks director Jeff VanMeeteren in a press release. “We also have overnight options for everyone with campsites, camping cabins, and modern lodging open year-round.”
In addition to water recreation opportunities, including fishing, South Dakota State Parks also offer hiking, biking, bird watching, disc golf, archery, and more. State parks remain open year-round as well, providing ample opportunity for individuals to enjoy their park entrance license through all of the seasons.
South Dakota State Park Entrance Licenses can be purchased online at campsd.com, at a local state park, or by calling 1.800.710.2267.
