The Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) has announced their 2025 season schedule. This schedule will include six regular-season events, the 2025 World Walleye Championship for 2024 season qualifiers, and the 2026 World Walleye Championship for the 2025 season qualifiers.
The 2025 season features six regular-season events across six different states. Teams that participate in three or more events and accumulate enough points will vie for the title of World Walleye Champions.
“It’s no surprise to see Lake Oahe on the schedule yet again,” said Nick Harrington, Owner of Lip Ripper Fishing. “Fishing at the end of May is spectacular in Mobridge, and I would anticipate some very nice weights coming to the scales!”
The complete schedule includes:
- March 21-22: Illinois River-Spring Valley, Illinois
- April 11-12: Lake Erie-Port Clinton, Ohio
- May 2-3: Petenwall Lake-Rome, Wisconsin
- May 30-31: Lake Oahe–Mobridge, South Dakota
- July 18-19: Bay de Noc-Gladstone, Michigan
- September 12-13: Cass Lake, Cass Lake, Minnesota
The 2025 World Walleye Championship will be October 9-11 in Alexandria, Minnesota on the Le Homme Dieu Chain for the 2024 season qualifiers. The 2026 World Walleye Championship will be held in October 2026 on Devils Lake in North Dakota for the 2025 qualifiers.
“2025 looks to be a really exciting year with great host communities and great waters for competition,” said Jeff Kelm, Tournament Director for the Masters Walleye Circuit. “Anglers will have the opportunity to get on some of the best bites in each location. Timing of all locations should line up excellent!”
Teams can participate in as many events as they wish, with points earned in at least three qualifiers necessary for an invitation to the World Walleye Championship. Those earning points in at least four qualifiers compete for “Team of the Year” honors, including a $10,000 sponsorship package and thousands more in cash and prizes to the top 10 teams in the “best of 4” final standing each year.
“Mason and I were fortunate to qualify for the National Team Championship in 2022,” continued Harrington. “This was a huge honor, and to be able to fish it on Lake Oahe was particularly special for us.”
MWC pays back more than 100% in cash and prizes each season and each MWC event has a lucrative payout which is based on the number of teams entered. For the entire 2025 season, the winners of each event are guaranteed a minimum of $10,000 First Place prize. The top 20% of the field at each qualifying event earns a check. The first-place team also earns a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops/Cabela’s National Team Championship (NTC) prize package including: paid entry, a travel stipend, team jerseys, and plaques. Additionally, the big-fish pot, option-pot, and sponsor bonuses will add thousands more for distribution among the field.
Under the umbrella of The Walleye Federation (TWF), the Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit is North America’s longest running and undisputed leader in team walleye tournaments since 1984 and as an inductee into the freshwater fishing hall of fame, has set the standard for competitive walleye fishing for the past 41 years.
