Anglers in the Pierre, Rapid City, and Mobridge area will have the opportunity to learn more about the Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe fisheries at upcoming public meetings hosted by South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP).
These meetings will begin with a short presentation on the history and current data from Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe. Individuals will then have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the fishery, management, and any other topics they may have.
Upcoming Meetings:
- Pierre: Tuesday, February 20, 7 p.m. CT at Ramkota Hotel
- Rapid City: Thursday, February 22, 7 p.m. MT at Outdoor Campus Rapid City
- Mobridge: Tuesday, February 27, 7 p.m. CT at Wrangler Inn
These meetings are an excellent opportunity to become informed on the current status, management actions, and engaged in the public process of fisheries management.
Lip Ripper Fishing 2024 Tournament Schedule Announced
The 2024 tournament schedule is set for Lip Ripper Fishing anglers Nick Harrington and Mason Propst. The season will feature five events on Lake Sharpe, Lake Oahe, Lake Francis Case, and Lake McConaughy. Lip Ripper Fishing, in partnership with the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, is proud to offer a free one-day fishing trip, two-night stay at Ramkota Hotel, and $200 Pierre Pride Dollars. Fishing will take place on Lake Sharpe or Lake Oahe depending on the time of year out of Pierre.
Individuals can enter to win through the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce by March 15, 2024. Individuals must be 18 years or older and may submit one entry per household.
